Me: What would you like to do for dinner tonight?
Wife: I’m making chicken.
Me: But…it’s Friday…during Lent!
Wife: We won’t go to Hell for eating meat today.
Me: No thanks “Eve”, I’ll pass.
If only Adam had given that same answer when offered the apple!!! LOL
Honestly, I agree with my wife. I observe the “no meat” rule only as a tradition, not a true belief. I'm such a rotten Catholic! :P
Have a great weekend folks~
you're a rotten catholic? i didn't even know it was lent. ha! i'm the worst!!!
ReplyDeletebut um...chicken sounds great so yea count me in! have a fabulous weekend pal!
hhahaha... don't know that huh! I mean not eating meat during lent..hahaha!
ReplyDeleteam not catholic maybe!lol! have a great weekend dear friend!
Here too:) I took advantage on my mood, I really don't understand myself this past few days..heheh! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Rotten catholic? I always have the boys choose the meal they want for Lent Fridays. If they ask for meat, then I serve meat. You can't deprive the kids right? God will understand. Gosh, I'm also a rotten Catholic. Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteRick, great minds think alike... I am planning to start a church too, I've seen a lot of independent churches making tons of money. Hahaha! We are talking about this during lent. We are bad. :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know personally of this belief, but there are tons of buddhist holidays where meat is a no no but i don't listen...so i guess we'll find out if thsi whole no meat thing has any validity if we see each other in hell ! haha
ReplyDeleteThe only reason why I have no religion is that I'm too self-centered, don't wanna get constrained.
ReplyDelete"Lent" is a new word for me, had to look it up.
Love the sarcastic 'Eve' reference! I just laughed out loud when I read that. Hubs thinks I'm insane, for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha... I like this one.

ReplyDeleteI'm not religious in any way really. My grandparents are very strict catholics, church comes before family which I think is insane but it's their life. My grandma always sticks by the no meat rule which wasn't much fun growing up though we did get lots of variations on fish and chips =)
ReplyDeletehaha. i didn't even know that you cant eat chicken during lent.haha. *well, at least I'm not a catholic.
ReplyDeletei love this..
If only Adam had given that same answer when offered the apple!!!
*LOL*
yeah..i wonder too.
HAHAHAH! Eve! I love that you guys have such great humour together! :) That's important. And you're right... you shouldn't be cutting something just because its tradition! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteHahahahhahahaha, I loved it! Poor wife, being compared to Eve! Tsk tsk tsk...
ReplyDeleteHi Rick!!
ReplyDeleteI am back! Missed reading your posts so much. :-)
Still got that damn virus on my computer, so I am writing this from my sister's laptop. Anyway, internet is working again, that counts!
If you had been Adam, then humanity would still live in Paradise, hahahaha! No, sometimes it is better to say no, but it is so difficult, too! It depends on the situation, I think. I rarely say no! :-)
We also have the same tradition, which my grandmother religiously upholds :) I agree with Kym, I love the way you and your wife's sense of humor meshes together :)
ReplyDelete"Gee thanks, Eve...". haha. That was precious. RYC: I don't "read" people all the time, and I won't be doing Psychiatry, I'll be doing Neuro-Psychiatry, which is more anatomical. Relax. :-p
ReplyDeletewe try our best not to eat meat on fridays during lent. but sometimes we eat out so it's hard. so we what we do is offset the no meat on a different day.
ReplyDeletei like your wife's humor.
uhh. lent? come again? :D
ReplyDeleteoh no you didn't call your wife Eve...LOL i would have to smack a man. ok, but I'm giving up pastries for lent (even though I'm not catholic) and I have cheated on it...Cinnabons are the cheapest things in the Chicago airport *hehe*
