Heavenly Conversation

Don't worry, I'm not hearing voices and I didn't have an odd dream (not lately). The "conversation" was something I witnessed in a cloud on my way home last night. It was after dark and the sky was completely clear, except for one big fluffy cloud.

One side of the cloud would flash and then a few seconds later another section would light up, as if it was answering back. Back and forth and then electricity would crackle across the cloud making it look like one of those plasma globes you can touch and have the electricity follow your touch.

It was so beautiful. To me it looked like a spirited conversation was taking place in the cloud.

PS: I have a question for the guys out there. When you were little, did you watch your mom put on make-up? I did and I just wondered if that's a common story--it seems like it would be. My mom didn't go out much, so when she did it was interesting to watch her sit at her vanity and "play" dress-up. I'd go back and forth between lying on her bed and standing next to her, watching in the mirror. A video post by MizzJ sparked this fond memory. =)

  1. Yeah I definitely did watch my grandmother, mom, aunts put on makeup. It was always neat to watch them transform. I think that's what helped with my love for makeup now, the observation of them =)

I love your cloud story. I think like that too sometimes.

Btw did you ever show your wife the post?

  2. ''electricity would crackle across the cloud'' really? :P I would like to see it bcus I've never heard of such a thing.:P
There was this one time when I saw green and yellow lights circling the midnight sky and I believe it's a UFO. It's amazing to see something you don't expect to see in the sky.

I actually never seen my mum put on makeup before. She says that she prefers natural beauty :)

  3. "would crackle across the cloud"
    I LOVED that sentence. Beautiful.

Hahahahaha, my mom was the same - she'd hardly ever put on her make-up! I didn't like it when she did! I thought it looked completely unnatural - which resulted in me not wearing make-up till I was, like, 20, LOL!

  6. That's the beauty of nature mixed with some science! Ah, what a great experience you had!

And my mom never wore makeup when I was a kid... even up to now. She doesn't like it. It's weird.

  7. I love watching the sky, one of my favorite memories as a child was going up the roof of our old house and just sky-watch :) If our old house was not destroyed by a big fire I bet that would still be one of my favorite spots in the house (aside from the computer table LOL). I especially like gazing up at the moon. "As mysterious as the dark side of the moon" remains one of my favorite phrases.

And how many times did I say favorite? :D

regarding your Q, i wish i had memories of watching my mom putting on makeup, but i dont, her priority was her hair. does that count? :P

  9. Hi Ric :) I see that you haven't really moved me to the missing persons list..Well, don't, cos I'll be back with posts soon :) And thanks so so much for the encouraging words and sharing your experience, just what I needed :)

Btw, watching mommy doing her make-up, of course!! plus tried all her make-up and shoes and clothes when she was not around ;p

  10. Aww I am so flattered that you mentioned my video!! And thank you for your thoughtful comments on my blog - they are much appreciated. I think a lot of Canadians brush off identity issues as being a big fuss about nothing, but even that dismissal only shows how little they believe in what we are feeling.

  11. i love looking at the sky..
i think that would be lovely to watch...

and about your question, well, sadly, i never had the chance, she's always away. maybe that's the reason I dont know how to put a makeup, even a blush on..anyways, i learned a little from the video by MizzJ..I think I should follow her to learn more:)

  13. Ahh, I really enjoy cloud watching, but have never seen something like you described! I must have been o beautiful.

Lol, I never saw my mum put on any make, that's maybe why I'm also not so much interested in make-up myself, hahaha! I agree with London's mum, I am also for the natural beauties :-)

  14. Interesting, never thought clouds that way ... but I do get what you mean. Next time I look at the clouds, I'll remember this entry. These little things make life even more beautiful

  16. Argh in re: to your 2nd comment about the previous topic hehe (this is likely confusing to others) - it was my own brother-in-law who was saying this!

  19. the clouds are pretty neat, especially when there's a storm and all. I used to look at them a lot when I was little. no my mom never put on make up and was heavily against me putting on make up. now that I'm old enough I just tell her to eat it LOL

  22. I remember watching my mom put make up on. I would always ask to have her put some on me. She would dabble a little blush. That's a lovely memory to bring up!

Don't you just love the sky when it does those amazing things? I actually like lightening. Not so much thunder tho.

  23. It's such a wonderful coincidence. For the past week I've been moving towards spiritual thoughts and I've like encountered several blog-friends on that path too. It's like spiritual week. Wow!

  24. wonder what they're talkin' about up in heaven?!?!? hehe!

i don't remember watching my mom put on makeup... she never really wore lots of make up from what I remember, just the basic stuff. I was pretty tom boy-ish growing up so even if she WAS doing that stuff, i probably wouldn't be interested. haha!

  25. Hey,

Thanx for your comment. My keyboard's a little wonky and I spend ages trying to get my sentences with as few mistakes as possible.

I love your simple descriptive flow of words. It's like reading a delightful descriptive passage. I love how you likened the lightning in the clouds to those little plasma globes. I think in the future when I witness such a phenomenon or come across a plasma globe, I would be reminded of this sentence of yours!

I used to awed by the whole make up pocess of my mum. I lie on the bed and watch her, asking why she did this and that... why she "pulled" her eyebrows and could never understand when she said, "so that mummy can look beautiful."

Just in case you didn't check back, here's my reply:

"It's always heartwarming to read a thoughtful comment from a stranger. I supposed you blogwalked here via Stephanie's "Life in Pink"? =)

Haha... Males usually like to read my food posts as I suppose the rest of the posts are too bimbotic for you all. *LoLz*

Thanx for your words. I believe in the power of words to make people's day even if they're some random stranger. I can see that Stephanie is a nice gal and you are too!

Please don't be a stranger. I would love to hear more from you."
