Life with Ricademus

I encountered a celebrity.  Danny "I'm too old for this stuff" Glover visited the Smithsonian's Folklife and Cultural Heritage progam.  I was in an elevator, heard someone ask me to hold it (which I did) and then Glover stepped in.  He politely thanked me.

I responded, "Happy to.  I wouldn't hold the elevator for just anyone.  I wouldn't hold it for Mel Gibson.  But happy to hold it for you."

He didn't react.  The ride only lasted one floor, so perhaps he was thinking about where he was headed rather than enjoying our elevator conversation.  Or maybe he was thinking about the best way to share the comment with Mel.  :)

      The Smithsonian has been a pretty good place to see the famous and near famous.

    I have to sheepishly confess I had to Google Danny Glover. I am culturally illiterate. :-)

      I'm not sure Lethal Weapon counts as culture, but they were fun and he did plenty of other things.

    PS - I have a friend named Daniel Glover. He sounds much cooler than the celebrity one :)

      I think the coolest, smartest, prettiest people are all regular people, not famous ones.

    I've seen some "low level German celebs" ever since I started to work at the airport, but my colleage did check in the It-Girl Olivia Palermo, and even got her autograph on her boarding pass, lol.

    I dunno who Danny Glover is and had to google him. Maybe he was trying to process if there was a hint of sarcasm in your tone or maybe he just wasn't listening?

      I've crossed paths with several celebs. Those encounters reminded me they're just people. But I'm sure if I met one of my favorite bloggers (or a superstar blogger) I'd be completely flustered. :)
