Like every Monday, I rolled out of bed this morning and started getting ready for work. A little cereal, time in the bathroom, time spent getting dressed, then it was time to walk out the door.
That's when I woke up. I'd simply dreamt I was getting ready for work. What a waste of good dreaming time!
The worst part? I had to do it all over again!!! :)
Semi-belated Happy Monday!
PS - This used to happen to me regularly in my late-teens, but this is the first time since then.
Ugh that can be the worst feeling. Or when you dream of work and then you wake up and realize that now you really have to go to work - sigh
ReplyDeleteDreaming of work! When work invades our dreams, we should get those days off.
DeleteThat happens to me all the time! Although I'm not sure if I've ever dreamt about the entire morning process, but I'll dream about my husband getting ready and talking to me, or me getting up to get the baby, etc. Definitely the worst part is realizing it wasn't real and that you have to get out of bed "again". :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does this! I wouldn't mind having to do something over again if it meant I got to do something cool like learn how to play the piano (Groundhog Day). But having to drag myself out from under the covers again is no fun.
DeleteThat's hilarious!!!!! Sorry you had deja vu.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I wish it had been a fun dream instead, something I wouldn't mind repeating. And I really hope this isn't a sign my subconscious is so dull it can't think of anything more interesting than getting ready for work!!!
Deletelol, happens to me all the time :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but at the same time it is so nice to not be alone in this.
DeleteThat must have made it also seem like you had to go to work twice in the same day. Sounds more like a nightmare than a dream! :-)
ReplyDeleteYikes! You're right. The only positive (and this is a stretch) is that I wasn't running late either time. During high school and college I should have been really getting ready instead of just dreaming about it. :)
DeleteI hate your dream, Rick. Lol. Dreams are supposed to fun ( somewhat ) but yours --- dreaming about going to work, you need to take a break man. Are you a workaholic?
ReplyDeleteWell **cough** you know, sometimes we end up working a little more than planned. But a workaholic? Honestly, too often, yes. I definitely need to have fun dreams to help balance that out. No one sings "Dream a little dream of WORK!" :D
Deletehahaha that's not a very good dream at all!
ReplyDeleteI don't like this kind of dream at all, Rick. What's the fun in thinking you've already done everything and then you wake up and gotta redo it. I think I wouldn't mind getting ready for work again. I used to dream that I've finished writing my paper and finished an exam and I wake up and I've still got my paper and exam to do. No fun!

The dirt path actually leads out of the woods. It isn’t creepy at all. Ooh, looks can be deceiving. We have grown old and less fit over the years. >_<
