Selecting Godparents

My wife watches "The New Normal."  Tonight's episode dealt with choosing godparents.  It reminded me that nothing (NOTHING) in my life ever inspired me more to want to LIVE. LOL!  Well, that and having to name a guardian for the kids in a will.  We could never agree on anyone.  Family members?  Nope!  Friends?  Nice people, but raising my kids???  I couldn't do that to them (my kids).

That might be a sign I need to start hanging out (in real life) with a better class of people.  :P

    I've never seen that show and I don't have godparents either.....my dad wasn't a fan of the idea!

    Hahaha, I like how you didn't pick them because you like your friends too much. I know for Catholics, godparents are supposed to guide you through your spiritual life, which even though I'm not Catholic, I kind of appreciate and like

      It is a nice thought, but so hard to find someone who takes being a godparent seriously.

    Hahahaa... hmm I actually didn't know that so people actively choose godparents! In any case my aunt and uncle are my godparents and they took care of me fot the first 6 years of my life. I'm closer to my aunt than my mother even today. ^^

      Interesting, no wonder we get along. :) I spent my first 6 months with an aunt and much of my first 7 years with different relatives.

    I've been meaning to catch that show since NeNe Leakes (of Housewives fame) is on it. I like her sass!

    I have godparents who are wonderful people but can definitely see what a tough decision it can be to choose the right people.

    That reminds me of the How I Met Your Mother episode recently that was about choosing guardians for Lily and Marshall's son. I'm not a parent, but I think it would be a difficult decision - how DO you choose?

      Hey reminds me, too, of that Modern Family episode when Cam and Mitchell were choosing guardians for Lily. :P
