Like most people, I often have to stop at the grocery store after work. Tuesday we needed toilet paper. There's nothing unusual about that. In fact, we seem to always need it. I used to worry the kids ate it, but the consequences of that would have shown up by now. I think. What are the consequences???
Anyway, what made this a strange trip is the single other item I decided to buy. Something on the end of an aisle caught my eye and I added it to the cart. Product placement works.
My son greeted me at the door when I got home and asked what I had in the bag. I told him I bought toilet paper and caviar. And then we both started laughing. I'm not 100% sure why. It just sounded funny.
The caviar is sure to be awful--it's from a grocery store! But I like to buy different things to (force) let the kids try. This week it's caviar. It probably won't be as well received as the week I brought home Nutella. =)
I'm placing my bet on the Nutella winning out over the caviar by a mile. And our kids must be related. I am quite sure mine consumed toilet paper as a snack on a regular basis. Hopefully your kids know how to actually put a new roll on the holder. Mine still haven't figured that out.
ReplyDeleteLOL I totally understand the "grocery trip" phenomenon. Every time I go, I always forget something that I intentionally went there for. I always end up buying items that I don't need as well. Furthermore, once I get home I find out that we're out of something else that we needed, which I had forgotten to check. Ugh...

nutella is amazing!!!!! oh gosh. I definitely think they'll prefer it to the caviar!
ReplyDeleteToilet paper runs out pretty fast in our apartment too. No idea why though!
The combination of nutella and caviar is so classy and fabulous! Let us know how the kids like it! I know for a fact that I absolutely love nutella. I eat it straight out of the jar!
ReplyDeleteKeep running out of toilet paper, eh? Any teenage boys in the house yet? ;p

Your kids didn't like caviar? That's good, so you don't have to buy them the expensive ones :) I'm the opposite, i only seem to like the most expensive food, lol. But Nutella is really good, even though it has been ages since I had the last one!
ReplyDeleteOh yes..product placement will get people to buy! Enjoy the caviar...everyone should try it atleast once! And I am glad many of us all agreed that today's outfit definitely aged me by a good 15+ years...my Mom didn't think it was that bad...but of 60 comments and the majority didn't like it...my insticts are right sometimes...
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to have them try new things. :) But why aren't you buying your tee-pee at Costco instead??
ReplyDeleteThe toilet paper consumption thing reminded me of this:

so how was the caviar rick?
ReplyDeletei love nutella! <3 i think i'll make myself a sandwich since you just reminded me of nutella. :P
yaa I do that too, I'd go in for mouthwash and come out with eggs and cheese and no mouthwash because they were on sale and mouthwash wasn't. LOL. but ya caviar prob isn't the best from grocery store, but prob taste better than some other stuff you can buy there ie cans of sardines, yuck!
ReplyDeletehhahahha! well, Nutella is good;) and of course caviar..ahehhe! Have a great weekend Rick!
